Tangier — Tangier-Med port handled 11.1 million twenty-foot equivalent containers (TEUs) in 2025, an 8.4% increase compared with 2024, the port authority said, attributing the rise to the recent expansion of the TC4 terminal operated by APM Terminals.
International truck traffic also grew 3.6% to 535,203 units, driven by higher exports of industrial and agricultural products. Passenger movements reached 3.2 million travelers and 895,341 vehicles, up 5–5.7%, with the “Marhaba” operation running smoothly under the confirmed ticketing system introduced in 2025.
Total cargo throughput across all activities rose 13.3% to 161 million tons, with liquid bulk up 13% and solid bulk down 11%, while vehicle handling decreased 12% due to production adjustments and restructured export flows. Tangier-Med welcomed 16,686 vessels, a 4.5% drop, but saw 1,319 ultra-large ships over 290 meters, up 8.4%, reflecting efficiency gains in berthing and operations.
